Why would I need a coach?
Coaching gives you structure, support, and a plan tailored specifically to you. It takes the guesswork out of training and helps you make the most of your time, energy, and goals. A coach also keeps you accountable and helps you navigate training through real life—busy schedules, injuries, motivation dips, and all.
Do I have to be fast or experienced to have a coach?
Not at all. Coaching is for every level—new, returning, or seasoned. Whether you’re preparing for your first sprint triathlon or chasing a new PR, I believe every athlete deserves guidance, support, and a plan that fits their life.
What kind of athletes do you work with?
I work with adults across a wide range of goals—from beginner triathletes and time-crunched parents to experienced racers looking to refine their performance. I also specialize in working with women navigating menopause, and with athletes returning from injury or life transitions.
What Does Coaching with SHINE Look Like?
Coaching with SHINE is a collaborative and personalized experience designed to support the whole athlete—mind, body, and schedule. Your training plan is tailored to your life, not the other way around. It evolves with you, whether you're building fitness, navigating challenges, or chasing a big goal.
All plans are delivered through TrainingPeaks, a powerful online platform that lets you view your workouts, track progress, and communicate directly with me. If you use a device like a Garmin, Coros, Wahoo, or similar, your data can automatically sync to your TrainingPeaks account—making it easy for us to monitor your training and make informed adjustments.
Your plan is updated weekly based on your feedback and real-life needs. I check in regularly, adjust as necessary, and make sure you’re never just following a plan—you’re training with purpose, clarity, and support every step of the way.
Can I work with you if I live in another state?
Absolutely. Most of my coaching is virtual, and it works beautifully. We’ll stay connected through TrainingPeaks, email, and scheduled video check-ins. You don’t have to be local to feel fully supported.
What if I’m dealing with setbacks, transitions, or just getting back into it?
That’s exactly where compassionate coaching matters most. I coach with real-life understanding and meet you with zero judgment. Whether you’re managing hormonal shifts, rebuilding strength after a setback, or re-learning how to trust your body—I've been there, and I’m here to help.
How do we communicate?
You’ll have regular check-ins, email access, and the ability to reach out as questions arise. I’m responsive, flexible, and truly care about your journey—not just your results.
Is there a minimum coaching commitment?
Yes—coaching with SHINE is offered in three-month blocks. Real growth takes time, and 90 days gives us the space to build momentum, adapt your plan, and see meaningful progress.
At the end of each block, we’ll check in, review what’s working, and decide together how to move forward into the next phase of your training. This structure helps you stay focused and supported without long-term pressure.
